Introducing Chill Kegels Chair

Let’s start with the basics: What are pelvic floor muscles?

Pelvic floor muscles are the layer of muscles that support the pelvic organs and span the bottom of the pelvis. For women, the pelvic floor muscles also support the uterus. Strong pelvic floor muscles give you control over organs like bladder, bowel and sexual organs. Weakened pelvic floor muscles mean your internal organs are not fully supported so they may not function correctly.

What can cause weakened pelvic floor muscles?

  • pregnancy & childbirth
  • pelvic surgery such as C-section, hysterectomy, prostate or bladder surgery etc.
  • obesity or weight gain
  • chronic constipation
  • sedentary lifestyle: sitting decreases the activity of transverse abdominal muscles which work with pelvic floor muscles to support the pelvic region.
  • menopause or andropause

What is the Chill Kegels Treatment?

Chill Kegels is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment to strengthen weakened pelvic floor muscles. Chill Kegels is a great option for men and women with incontinence, sexual dysfunction or even lower back pain. Chill Kegels can also strengthen your core so you feel more supported and stable.

Chill Kegels is a chair! You sit, fully clothed, on the Chill Kegel chair and the chair emits high intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) waves to create supramaximal contractions within the pelvic floor muscles over a 28 minute session.

These contractions re-educate the pelvic floor muscles, strengthening them and making them more responsive.

How long do Chill Kegel treatments last & how often should I get treatment?

A typical treatment takes about 28 minutes and you will need about 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week at our Cincinnati location.

What does a Chill Kegel treatment feel like?

You will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscle contractions during the procedure. You may resume daily activities immediately after the treatment.

How Fast will I see Results from Chill Kegel treatment?

Some clients observe improvement after a single session while for others it may take a few sessions to experience results. Results will typically continue to improve over the next few weeks of treatment.

How long will Chill Kegel Results Last?

The gains in pelvic floor muscle strength from Chill Kegels will diminish over time. Depending on your age, general health & initial severity of weakened pelvic floor the benefits can last anywhere from 4 to 12 months. After an initial treatment course of 6 sessions, many clients will continue with maintenance treatments to retain their strengthened pelvic floor muscles.

Why is Chill Kegel Treatment Better Than Regular Kegels?

Chill Kegels treatment is superior to regular Kegels because it delivers supramaximal contractions by the thousands during a 30 minute session. Thirty minutes on the Chill Kegels chair is equivalent to doing over 10,000 Kegels!

Most people do not take the time to do Kegels; Chill Kegels is a great option because it is a very concentrated Kegel workout that is passive for the client.

What to Expect During Chill Kegels Treatment:

After arriving at our Cincinnati location, your treatment begins. During Chill Kegels treatment you will be completely clothed yet, we recommended loosely fitted clothing to help achieve the best positioning during treatment. When the treatment starts you will feel slight tingling and vibrations in your pelvic floor muscles that will then turn into full contractions. This will be completely comfortable and tolerable. If not, please let your healthcare provider know and they will adjust accordingly. Take this 28-minute session to relax, read a magazine, or watch television. You will be able to return to normal activities after the treatment.

How do I sit in the Chill Kegels chair for maximum results?

  1. Sit comfortably at the center of the chair.
  2. To achieve the correct treatment position height of the chair can be set. Your health care provider will help you with this.
  3. Your feet should be flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart (which varies from patient to patient).
  4. Place your knees just above your feet at a 90-degree angle with slight outward rotation.
  5. Angle your pelvic area closest to the center of the chair, you may have to tilt forward or backward to get the right angle.
  6. Keep your spine straight and relax your hands on your thighs.
  7. The first minute of therapy is there to help you gauge positioning. The tapping should be over the perineum (see figure below). Either adjust forward, back or towards either side to find the target area.

“I signed up for Chill Kegels treatment because I ride horses, and I could not ride without wearing a pad, which was soaked by the time I was finished with the ride. I also could not sit through an entire movie. After 4 Emsella treatments I can ride without any urine loss and I can make it through a movie without getting up to visit the bathroom. And I want to say….the sex is amazing. Orgasms are much stronger- like they used to be when I was younger!”

In this section we will address specific male issues that Chill Kegels can help alleviate.

The pelvic floor muscles form the lower portion of the pelvis and support the bladder, rectum, and prostate. When these muscles become weakened, it can lead to these issues in men:

  • erectile dysfunction & premature ejaculation
  • venous insufficiency
  • loss of sexual sensitivity
  • overactive bladder
  • incontinence (both kinds)
  • excessive gas & bloating
  • post-surgical recovery (prostate, bladder or any pelvic surgery)

Chill Kegels uses focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) to stimulate contractions in the entire pelvic floor and can relieve these issues by doing the following:

  • strengthening the ischiocavernosus and bulbocavernosus muscles in the pelvic area that surround the penis and are active during an erection.
  • improving blood circulation within the pelvic floor muscles and perineum.
  • strengthening the bulbocavernosus muscle of the pelvic floor which allows for compression of the deep dorsal vein of the penis to prevent the outflow of blood from an enlarged penis (venous insufficiency)

Benefits of Chill Kegels Treatment:

  • stronger, harder erections
  • relief from urinary urgency & incontinence
  • better orgasms
  • longer sexual stamina
  • relief from lower back pain
  • restored confidence & quality of life!

What does the research say?

Due to the fact that the pelvic floor muscles play a role in sexual activity, the British Journal of internal medicine published a study in 2005 suggesting pelvic floor physical therapy as a first line agent in treating erectile dysfunction.

Chill Kegel treatment is quick and discreet.

  • 30 minute treatments
  • fully clothed
  • no downtime, return to your regular routine immediately after treatment!

Contraindications for male Chill Kegels treatment:

Men with a pacemaker or those diagnosed with terminal illness such as cancer, should not have Chill Kegels treatment.
